Every School Librarian needs this in their bag of tricks! Library Lingo is a kid-friendly game that you can use to introduce library terms in the beginning of the year, or as a refresher for your older students, or a creative way to introduce research and reference materials. I played this game at least once a month to familiarize my 3-8 grade students with library terms in a fun way. They actually got excited about the language of the library!
Library Lingo is played just like bingo. The call-out cards have basic definitions of commonly used terms associated with your library. Here are a few you will see:
* dictionary
* almanac
* Newbery Award
* thesaurus
* copyright date
* call number
* Dewey Decimal System
* fiction
* biography
* and many more!
Library Lingo uses over twenty-five terms!
The game includes 30 playing cards, a tracking sheet, call-out cards, instructions, and tokens. Library Lingo is 100% Media Specialist guaranteed.
